Happy 2nd Birthday Brennan

To my sweet little 2 year old boy,

Did I really just say 2 years old? Gosh, how time flies (the old saying... time flies when you are having fun and when you are busy, is so true). Actually I just added the busy part, of that saying myself. Because you Definitely, with a capital D keep me busy, busy, busy!!

Two as in the numbers 1and 2. Two as what is known as the toddler year. Two as in the terribly two's!! I feel like in the last couple of months, you have been knocking on the terrible two's door, begging to come on in just a little early. However, at the same time you are so loving, caring and tenderhearted. You are either in the "dat mine" or "no" stage or something your Dad likes to do, is to pretend he is crying just to get you to say...no, no, no Daddy in the sweetest little voice, as you are trying to raise his head to hug him and make sure he is ok. When you are old enough to read this, you are going to think..gosh that was mean of him! I'm going to have to agree, that is mean but oh so sweet to see you trying to check on him as you lay your little head on him and say..no no no Daddy.

Two years ago, you had a hard little start on life. You were born premature weighing 4lbs10 oz and spent quiet some time in the NICU. A couple of months after you turned one, you had a 3 in 1 surgery. You had a cyst removed above your eye, you had your tongue clipped and you had tubes put in your ears. Also, we found out that you were far sided and needed yet another surgery, this time it would be eye muscle surgery, to align your eyes. You have almost had your glasses for an entire year and have done so well with them. From the start, you never gave us a minutes trouble about wearing them ( I guess you know that they really do help)! The only time you really ever take them off, is when you are tired and fixing to go to bed or if you are bored in the car on a long trip!! I wondered if I would ever get use to glasses on you, when we first got them and now that is YOU! I love them on you, matter of fact, you wouldn't be you with out them!

I have always heard how different boys and girls are and I am kinda going to have to agree with that saying now, that I have one of each. Just a couple of examples for ya, you my son are full of life, you are busy all the time, you already have broken 2 of my necklaces, 3 pairs of my earrings, a coffee pot, a bowl, a candle holder and an end table (grant it, it was a cheap one, but it and all the stuff listed previously, were all here and still like new, since before your sister). Yet another difference in boys and girls, you already have holes in the knees of your blue jeans, your sister would freak out if her blue jeans had holes in them!! You throw things and laugh, your sister would cry if you threw her things (and she has).

You absolutely are in love with your sister and she in love with you. Some of my favorite times, are listening to you two laugh and watch ya'll chase each other around the house. Instead of calling her Jolee, you call her JoJo and started that all on your own (so it has stuck)! You will lay by her bedroom door and put your fingers under it, as you holler out.. JoJo, JoJo, JoJo until she lets you in. She is like a little mama to you, she helps you fix your tooth brush, she reads you books and the list could go on and on. If you are with me, when I drop her off at school in the mornings, you cry and say..JoJo, JoJo and when it's time to go get her in the afternoons, you head to the front door and say...let go!

You are a true blessing to me and in my life. I am so very thankful that God chose me to be your Mommy.

Here are some of my favorite things that you say or do, that I never want to forget..

You call chocolate milk...choc choc (that has stuck too)

You call coke...choke (again that has stuck here in our house as well)

You know the color blue...you call it boo (everything is boo)

You occasionally throw in the colors "wed" for red, "wellow" for yellow

You like to watch, Chuck the Truck, Chuggington, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and The Bubble Guppies.

You love to help me unload the dishwasher, the dryer and even carry grocery bags in and I love the help!

You love outside, you love climbing, you love swinging and you love just getting dirty!

Your favorite pair of shoes is, your boots! You want to wear them, with everything even your pj's!

I absolutely love, when you pat my "wap" (lap) and start backing up. That means you want to sit in my lap.

Your favorite thing in this world, right now is...Trucks!! You love trucks and tractors, anything with wheels! You always have a truck in your hand and if you ask anyone what does Brennan like? Their answer hands down, would be..Trucks!

Happy 2nd Birthday, little man! You keep us laughing and are such a blessing!
Love, Mommy

  3. Love the pictures! Couple of questions - who sings that song, I've never heard it. Made me tear up, such a great song. Also, where did ya'll go and get pictures with 'Mator? Britt is crazy about "Mator and Wighting MaQueen".
