All in a month!

This month, Brennan has made some major changes in his daily routine. He no longer sleeps most of the day, he no longer is happy just laying around on his play mat, he no longer wants to swing all day and he no longer wants to sit in the bouncy seat. He has definitely, figured out that he wants to be on the go. He has changed so much and has grown so much bigger this month. So just in a short month, he has hit some major milestones and has experienced some new things that he really, really likes!

He has grown out of his infant tub and has moved on up into his ducie bathtub. He loves it! My kitchen every night gets a bath along with him. He kicks and kicks those legs so much and so hard, that water splashes everywhere... cabinets, walls, blinds, etc. And he knows it's funny, he will stop look at me and Jolee who are laughing our heads off and then he laughs and starts again.

He loves and has tried frozen bananas. They are so messy, but I think it feels really good on his gums and it keeps him interested long enough for me to unload the dishwasher and then load it back up again. Hey I have learned we do what we gotta do around here to survive.

He is scooting around and has found his toy stash. He looks well on his way, to going and getting them. Little man will be crawling soon it looks like.

We have mastered the Bumbo chair. This chair is awesome. We didn't have one with Jolee, but it is really cool and gives him another place to sit besides the bouncy seat. And as long as you give him something to chew on, he's good to go. That gives me enough time to fold some clothes!

He has become Mr. Houdini. I have no idea how he got his leg out of his pj's, but when I went to get him one morning out of his crib, one of his legs where hanging out of his pj's while the pj's are still buttoned up. Go figure!

He is in size 3 diapers now! That is crazy in itself and yes I have cried after we have moved up every size. How cute are those denim diapers? He got them at his shower, from Sis. Danette. And Jolee was so excited the day we finally got to open them up and use them. They are adorable on him.

One of the big milestones we have hit this month is....Teeth! He has 2 bottom teeth and they are sharp. Who gets teeth at 6 months old? Well maybe it's normal, but Jolee did not get her first tooth until she was 8 months old.

He has been introduced to football this month! And every Saturday has his game day shirt on. Believe me when I say, he will not have to wear the same Alabama shirt twice this season. I did not think it was possible for anyone to have more Alabama shirts in their closet than Silas does, but his son has him beat hands down.

He has almost learned to hold his on bottle. Daddy is pushing it and trying to teach him how to do it, while Mommy says....no don't teach him that, I want to hold his bottle so he can be a baby a little bit longer.

Baby Mum-Mums! He is a fan! I had saw them a couple of weeks ago and looked at the box, read it and thought well no I will wait a bit on that. Then the other day, we were in Target and happened to be in the baby department getting diapers (imagine that) and he became very fussy. He has also learned this month he doesn't want to be tied down in his car seat very long. But ok back to my Mum-Mum story. So he was crying and I picked up the box and said well we are going to try them. As I am opening the box, Jolee is saying...Mommy we haven't paid out yet (that is what she calls checking out). I said desperate times, calls for desperate measure's (try explaining that to a 4yr old). As I'm assuring her, we will pay out for them I give him one and he held it, started chewing on it and before I knew it, he has Mum-Mum's all over his face. He loved it, it was new, he could hold it himself and it was something besides formula. He was happy and busy and I was able to finish my shopping up. Survival people survival!

He has been introduced to the exersaucer and is getting the hang of it pretty fast. He loves when he makes the music start and is about to get the hang of turning the seat around to get to all of the toys. Love that drooling smile of his! He is such a happy baby!

And last but not least, we have  started introducing the cup. Just so he can start getting used to it. I usually put a little juice and water mixed together and give it to him to play around with every couple of days. The first day we gave it to him, he grabbed on to the handles and tried his best to get it in his mouth. When he finally maneuvered it in and got a sip, well I think his face says it all.....

so basically he just chews on it. Which is fine by me, it does give me enough time to get Jolee in and out of the bath though.

Next month my baby will be 7 month old, that is so hard to believe. I don't even want to talk about it. I'm so proud of him and so very proud of the accomplishments he has made this month.

Just as a FYI, I was told that big sister needed to be at every one of his first. First time for the cup, the exersaucer, the first time in the Bumbo chair, etc. You get the picture! I love it, I love that she wants to be involved and gets so excited for him. God has truly blessed my life with 2 great children!
