A camping we will go, a camping we will go, hi ho the dairy-o, a camping we will go! I'm going to start off as honest as I can, I was NOT singing that tune before we went or while we were talking about going. I thought it was crazy, crazy, crazy just plain crazy to go camping with an 8 month old! So I have come clean right up front. I think you get the idea, I did not think it would be fun at all. But because I have a (this is for you Bro. David) servant's heart and my husband and daughter thought it would be great and that we would have fun and that Brennan would be ok, I went!
So here was the deal...Jolee had a couple of days off from school, Silas had a few days off from work but a meeting in between those days. We talked it over and decided if we I was going to camp with an 8 month old, then it needed to be a magical place so Fort Wilderness here we come. Because even camping is a bit magical at Disney.
After Daddy put the tent up by himself (well, Jolee helped him some) whileI was taking care of and feeding little man, he cooked us some burgers. Wendy's has got nothing on Daddy, he can make square burgers too!
After eating we headed over to roast marshmallow's and for the sing a long with Chip and Dale! Jolee was so excited, she told Brennan on the walk over all about it, because it was his 1st time at Disney and to camp!
He was a champ, he did so good and loved looking around and watching everybody and everything!
He got him a little nap, before heading over to the festivities with Chip and Dale!
Daddy set up his little pack and play and we had his CD that he always goes to the sleep with at home and a fan to drown at the noise and he slept like, well he slept like a baby!
He was excited when the music started!
Jolee had talked to him about when he meets Chip and Dale, that HE could get HIS picture made with them and what they would look like. So we said...Jolee, why don't you get your picture made with Brennan and Chip and Dale? Her reply...Um no I don't want to, but Brennan can!!
Brennan loved it, he loved it so much he leaned right over and tried to bite on their big noses. I think we can say my baby is...TEETHING?
He was amazed and couldn't take his eyes off of them, as you can see! It was a huge moment for mama, it was his first picture with a Disney character!
One of Jolee's favorite things to do there, is roasting marshmallows with her Daddy!
The boys headed back to the tent to get some sleep after the sing a long, while me and Jolee sat out under the stars together and watched the movie "Robin Hood" on the big screen. I haven't seen that movie in forever and Jolee had never seen it. So we had a girls movie night and it was so much fun!
The next morning Daddy had meetings, so it was up to good ole Mom to make sure that the kids had fun. I was a tad proud of myself, for venturing out and for taking the kiddos all around the camp and doing some fun activities. We started off the morning doing arts and crafts, they made mask. Jolee got to pick her favorite Disney character, of course she chose Belle and got to color it and make her mask. Not so sure why Belle has green skin, but it was her project. The rainbow hair didn't even faze me, all her coloring pages these days are rainbow colors!
In between the rain that day, we fit in a trip to the park. Went and saw the pond with the ducks, went to the gift store and checked out all the over priced souvenirs.
While Brennan took his naps that day, Jolee and I played some board games, read some books, colored and she practiced riding her bike, we even had a picnic and lots and lots of fun! It was great getting to spend some one on one time with Jolee, you know if I was at home there would have been housework that needed done, while Brennan was sleeping. So I really enjoyed the time away from all the every day stuff that needs done at home and just got to focus, play and have fun with my kiddos!
And only at Disney can you swim in November! She took off and had a blast, she met another little girl and really enjoyed playing with her. They have a kiddie swimming area and she absolutely LOVED it!
This picture was worth it all!
She even went down the kiddie slide which amazed me, but she said...Mom I'm 4 now! Clearly being 4 did not matter the night before at the Chip and Dale sing a long when she wouldn't get near them. She just does not do characters that you can't see their face. But being 4 makes her a little braver around water!
When Silas got back from his meetings, we cleaned up a bit and headed to Downtown Disney for some dinner and site seeing!
Another favorite thing of Jolee's is to ride the Disney Buses.
By this point, Brennan had put in his 2nd full day and night at Disney! He was so tired, but how sweet is the above picture of him laying on his Daddy sucking his thumb.
The next morning after breakfast and the break down of the tent, Jolee still wanted to ride the pony's that we had promised her she could do the day before. The girl doesn't forget anything (which is why I tell her my grocery list). It had really turned cold over night, so Silas took her to ride pony's while me and little man stayed in the nice warm car.
When they got back, we then headed over to City Walk and ate some lunch. Silas had told Jolee she could pick when we got there, where she wanted us to eat lunch. Which I thought was a little suspicious, but after she picked the basketball restaurant (I don't even remember the name of it) my suspicion grew bigger and I'm still convinced he bribed her while together at the pony rides.
I thought she wanted to get her picture made with this race car outside of the racing restaurant, because it was purple. But after the 4th picture of her with a different car every time, it hit me that she just loves posing for pictures! Yep, my little Diva!
Waving at her Daddy and Brennan as she rode the carousel!
This is what happens when we try to get a family picture! All I wanted was a family picture to document our little family of 4 vacation. Well this is the nice family picture I got and this is the 3rd one that was taken. Jolee was whining that the sun was in her eyes, Silas was telling her to just look and smile and it would be over soon, Brennan wanted to see what the commotion was behind him and I was just smiling, saying please just one time everyone smile and look happy. I mean for the love, just 1 picture people!
Jolee and Brennan with their souvenirs from our very fun, very needed family vacation!
And even though both kids ended up extremely sick after our trip, the only thing that Silas and I would change would be to have packed our deodorant. Yep, I forgot to pack mine and Silas forgot to pack his! I was not about to pay like $10 for some deodorant at the store on the campground, so if we stunk at least it was together!

HAHA! A family that stinks together stays together! You crack me up! : )
