All last week was spent promising Jolee that yes indeed on the day Daddy was off, that night we would put them in the wagon and as a family stroll through the neighborhood looking at all the beautiful Christmas lights. However the whole week leading up to our nice little family outing, was very nice, not hot, not cold, perfect if you will.
The night we had talked about all week was finally here and she was so excited. All day long, she kept asking... Is it time yet? How much longer till it gets dark? Well considering it was only 11 AM she had a while to wait. And wouldn't you know, it happened to be the coldest night we have had yet. The wind was blowing which made it even worse. But rain, shine, freeze, whatever, I was keeping my promise to my little girl. So we bundled our children up, like they were going skiing and we headed out into what felt like Alaska weather. Little man couldn't move, he was so layered with clothes.
After walking to the end of our street, we decided and sold the idea to her that we would all load up in the car and drive through the rest of the neighborhood looking at the Christmas lights. She was sold, when we said the warm car! But let it be known, this Mama kept her promise.
We did have a fun little cold family outing and I think that is the night, she became my hot chocolate buddy. Sister put down 2 cups all by herself.
