What is wrong with me (Silas you do not answer that question)? These days I can not get a post up and blogged about, until it is time for another holiday.
There are a ton of pictures, because I am combining all the Thanksgiving festivities into one post...so here we go!
The week of Thanksgiving, Jolee's class had a Thanksgiving program at school with a special little lunch afterwards. Ms. Karla let the children decide on what the menu was going to be and even let them help make it. The kids picked peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for their main dish. They had been reading books and talking about the real meaning of Thanksgiving the previous weeks leading up to the program. They made cute crafts (like the one above). She also made a big turkey on their bulletin board and had different color feathers. Each feather had the child's name and what they were thankful for. Some had sweet stuff like...I'm thankful for my Mom, Dad you get the point.. Jolee's said this....I am thankful for my Barbies!!

and her Mom (that she really is thankful for, she just said Barbies on accident I'm sure). Whatever, the girl is crazy about her Barbies. So much so, that if you would have asked me or her Daddy what she was Thankful for, we would have said... her Barbies!
The program was a special time for the student and their parents, so little man stayed with Sis.Tara for a couple of hours. He had fun and was well taken care of. Thanks again, Sis. Tara!
The next day, we left for Bama to spend Thanksgiving with our families! We always eat Thanksgiving lunch with Silas's Granny and her family. It's the only time, that most of the family gets together and there is always a ton of good food!
Granny and Jolee
Granny and Brennan. This was the first time, that Granny had seen Brennan. She told me that, he is her 22nd great-grandchild and the 5th generation that has the name Silas. His name is...Brennan Silas!
After that it was back to my Grandparents for more food and family. This year was a little different, a lot of the family didn't make it home this year for Thanksgiving, but it didn't stop us from eating and having a good time. It was so relaxing, we sat around and talked, laughed, played games and watched some movies.
Speaking of relaxing, looks like Pappy and Brennan are doing a good job at that!
Granna with her granddogs Sophie and Chloie!
Weston helping Brennan drink some juice!
On the farm, we got to see new baby calf's. We went in the field and got to see them up close and when I say new, I mean some were still trying to get up and walk. It was amazing. we counted 13 new baby calf's. I was in awe!
Don't you like her outfit? She put it together herself. I told you, we were on the farm relaxing and having fun. I guess that was her go on a golf cart ride, see the cows and feed the chicken's outfit!
Jolee helping Granna fix the pancakes for breakfast!
Every Christmas Pappy gives Jolee a snow globe. We now have 4 in her collection. This year, she got a Barbie Nutcracker snow globe. She now is old enough to say, I wonder what kind of snow globe Pappy will get me this year? She loves getting them out every year and LOVES turning them all on at the same time!
Such a sweet, special tradition that her and Pappy got going on there!

A family photo for 2010!
Ok, you probably are thinking well that sums up the weekend and they should be headed back home. WRONG, on Sat. evening we left from Bama and headed to New Orleans. Silas had a preaching appointment there on Sunday. We stayed in a hotel that night and the next morning went to church and met some wonderful people. Sis. Susan sticks out in my mind the most, because bless her heart I think she could see the exhaustion written over my and the kiddos faces. She sat with me and helped me with the kiddos during the service. All I had to say to Jolee, was Sis. Susan was James and Audrey's Grandma and she was a fan! But seriously everyone there was wonderful and welcomed us with open arms.
Jolee sleeping at the hotel. We did not even have to tell her to go to bed, after that drive she climbed in and was out in no time.
Brennan slept so good in his little crib in the hotel room. His first stay in a hotel and yes I documented that!
And Sophie was wiped out as well from the trip!
A wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

What a great time it looks like ya'll had! The pictures are so cute! I especially love the family photo. These are memories they will never forget.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful Thanksgiving. I can not wait to hear about the Christmas adventures. By the way - we have that same kind of sleeping picture with my dad and Lucas. Love You Guys!! Beth
