O Christmas Tree

We have had our tree up, since the weekend before we left to go to Bama. Our thought process was #1 we had no plans that weekend. #2  We thought we would enjoy coming back home to our Christmas tree already up and decorated and #3 Jolee was ready!

As you can see, the ornaments have inched there way up a little higher this year. In case you have forgotten, we let Jolee put all the ornaments on last year and so from the bottom up as far as she could reach is were all the ornaments were all the away around the tree. As for the middle and the top of the tree, well they were  pretty bare. She was so proud of herself though and loved it. So as you can see in the above picture, they are inching up a little bit highe,r due to her growing a little taller the year.
The first thing Silas and I said as we turned to each ,at the same time that night was....Look, the ornaments have gotten a little higher up this year.

Due to us working in the garage that day, we didn't get around to doing the tree until right around brothers bed time. But of course I wanted him to be part of it, since this is his 1st Christmas. So we got as far as getting the tree out of the box and standing it up and plugging it in. There hadn't even been fluffing, but all I wanted to see was his first reaction to his first Christmas tree. So we sat him in front of it and I got what I was looking for. I got the waving of his excited little hands moving up and down, I got the breathing heaving and I got the facial expression of "wow" that I was looking for.
So I was one happy little Mama. Even though he wouldn't remember it, I will and now I have that wonderful oh so cute memory of my little man experiencing his 1st Christmas tree.

So see everyone was happy about putting the up the tree! I love how he loves his big sister! And I love how she loves her little brother!

She loves taking out each ornament. You would think everyone of them were sooo special to her, she just goes on and on about how beautiful it is, how shiny, how sparkly, as she tries to remember who gave it to her the year before. I love Christmas time, the lights, the tree, the family time, etc, etc but to see it through your child's eyes is like seeing it for the first time over and over again.
I feel so blessed to be a Mommy.

Granna always gets her a special ornament from Hallmark, usually something that she is into that year or from a collection. This year Jolee's ornament was...Jessie! And Brennan's ornament was...A baby's 1st Christmas ornament and has a place for hispicture on it!

She absolutely loves all these wonderful loud singing things. The best part is, she loves to turn them all on at the same time. How lucky are we? It only last a month, until they all go back in their boxes until next year. I can do, I can do it, I can do it!! She loves them, now he loves them, so I love them too I guess!

The next morning, when Brennan woke up the first that sissy and I wanted to do was show him the Christmas tree, with all the beautiful ornaments and lights on it. He layed there and just stared at it for a bit.
Then he decided enough with the laying here and staring, lets put Santa and his reindeer in a head lock!
We have no mantle, so that looked like a good place to me!
Our Christmas tree for 2010!
Jolee loves looking at the Christmas tree. You will find her, reading books by it, talking to her ornaments, playing with the noise makers  the beautiful sounding stuffed Christmas animals. The other day, we took it a step further. She asked me if she could sleep in her sleeping bag by the tree. Me... of course you can, that would be so fun for you. Go ask Daddy if he will help you get set up.
She is definitely her Daddy's daughter, it was like she knew she had to sell him on the idea. This was her talking 90 to nothing...Daddy could you please, please, please get my sleeping bag for me I am going to sleep by the tree. Daddy, I don't have school tomorrow, so I don't have to sleep in my bed, I don't have to wake up early, I will help you get my sleeping bag and I will get my animals that I sleep with, so you wont have to do that. She kept going on and on and on.

Finally when she took a breath, he said I will get it for you and help you get your stuff ok, Jolee that will be so fun for you! I guess she has learned from the master on how to sell stuff and ideas to people. So 2 nights in a row, she has slept by our tree. I love it, I think it is precious and it's something special to do at Christmas time!!
