11 months

I made it this time, I am actually doing your 11 month post while you are still 11 months old. Grant it, it is a little after 1 in the morning but I only have 2 days to get this post in before my baby boy turns1. This month was like all the rest of the months, it has flown by and you have kept me and yourself pretty busy.

This month you have discovered that if you drop something off of your tray, someone will lean down and pick it up for you. Your favorite past time these days is, taking all the movies and books out of the entertainment center and strolling them all around the living room.

However you love books (just like your sister did at this age and still does). It amazes me that you will sit in my lap and let me read books to you as you coo and babble at the pages and you know were to touch and feel them (if they are those kind of books). We have started lately at night, combining your and Jolee's book and bible time. She picks 1 book out for her and then she picks one out for you, from your room and then we read a Bible story together. The way you sit there, for the most part and listen and look up at me as I'm reading melts my heart, then you will look and watch your sister almost like you are studying her to see her reactions and if she is going to touch something on the page or if she is going to laugh. You two have such a special bond!

Speaking of brotherly and sisterly bonds, you have learned that sister likes to hide out in her room and play with her barbies (which she could do for hours) but you will crawl all the way down the hall to her room (she has the door shut, due to small barbie shoes and such) and sit at her door and babble something and hit at the door (if to say please let me in). When you do see her door open, you book it down there and you get so excited. I don't know if its just that... it is her room, or if it is a room you don't go in a whole lot, or the color pink that is ever where, or the many dolls that are in there, or if it is the princess vanity that has a piano on it, that you know how to turn on.

You also let her put necklaces on you and you wear them almost all day. She has started watching her stuff  and her clothing a bit more careful lately, I can not tell you how many times a day I hear...No Brennan you are going to get it wet or Mom, I have to change he has drooled all over this. You are a drooler and you are teething like crazy. You already have a mouth full of teeth

You have experienced your 1st Valentines Day this month and enjoyed your first trip to Build-A-Bear. That  is our Valentines Day Tradition, a little more expensive buying 2 bears, but it is a one time a year thing.

You are still army crawling (although you are venturing out with cruising a little bit)  but the army crawling doesn't slow you down one bit. If you see the refrigerator door open, you make a bee line to it and start grabbing what ever you can find to take out, this day and time it just happened to be sister's princess cup. You didn't care, but what a sight it was in your camo pj's drinking out of a pink princess cup!

You say DaDa and MaMa and you are making all kind of new sounds and noises, you just perfected your clicking noise with your tongue. You can say.. Hey and wave. The cutest thing about that is, as you wave you concentrate hard on moving those little fingers and turn your hands in, so tht you are waving to yourself.  You crinkle up your little nose and whine a bit, until someone looks at you and then you smile and laugh. Your new smile these days, is crinkling your little nose up as you smile and with those big sweet cheeks you can't see your eyes at all. You absolutely love outside, I try to keep the curtains on our sliding glass door open and you will go over there countless times a day and sit and babble and  just look around. You also have started trying to sneak out the door with Sophie. You weren't so sure about touching the grass the other day, but you never really have seen it up close before to touch it. You were so little we didn't go outside much at all last year. However, I do predict that now that the weather is so beautiful we will be spending a lot of time outside.

We have also discovered this month, that we have a little Hercules on our hands. You literally broke a hanger, right in front of our eyes. Your Daddy and I kinda looked at each other, like did you just see that? You have sported another bruise on your head this month and I promise you are going to get a concussion if you don't stop climbing on, climbing thru and climbing over stuff.

We cheated just a little bit this month and turned your car seat around early (only by a few weeks). You love it, but you look like such a big boy turned around with your little shoes on.

Your hair has finally started to get thick and grow, the only problem with that is...It has only really thickened and grown in the back. I am afraid that you are going to have a little mullet like your sister did, if the sides and top don't hurry up and start growing. I don't know if you can tell it, from this picture but you have 2 or 3 little curls that curl up right by your ears on each side....so cute!

You absolutely love bath time, if you hear that water running you come a crawling as fast as you can. You have no fear, you will plop back and go under water and laugh, you crawl all over the tub, you just absolutely love baths!

I can't believe you are 11 months old already and really about to turn 1. The time sure has flown by. Jolee made the comment the other day...Mom he's not going to be our baby any more when he turns 1. Talk about a tear jerker, I'm going to have to hold myself together for her it looks like.

A few more things I want to mention, in your letter so that one day I will have this to look back on and remember the wonderful funny, sad and happy moments that made up your 11 month. When you get excited you flap those arms up and down like you are going to fly away. You have been drinking your milk out of a sippy cup since, right around 10 months. You can down it, in a hurry. You love food and you have started wanting to only eat what you can pick up yourself (I guess that's you getting a little of your independence). You turned your head from the spoon, I had your oatmeal on but I knew you were hungry, so I layed the spoon with the oatmeal on it, on your tray you picked it up and put it right in your mouth. You can do the more sign and you use it and show us when your at your highchair and eating. It is so fun to watch those little wheels turning in your head and soaking it all in. You have been sick and had another ear infection this month, which won you another round of antibiotics. You are wearing size 12 month clothes.

You melt my heart little boy and it's like double melted now, when you look at me with your big blue eyes and say Mama. Still one of my favorite times of the day, is when I come to get you out of your crib in the morning and at nap time and you smile at me and then wrap your little arms around my neck and lay your head on my shoulder and I just stand there and try to soak it in, our little special moment together.

I Love You Son,
Love Mommy
