Before heading to Bama for Christmas, Silas and I always pick a day to have "our" little family Christmas, so that we can be together and have a special time with our kids in front of our tree at home. The special night this year was the Monday, before leaving for Bama on that following Wednesday night.
I always try to make that night a little more special, we eat in the front dining room with a nice table cloth, we have dinner by candle light and we eat on our china. Jolee was old enough this year to kinda get the special"ness". She was so excited, she said we were kinda like the book she loves to read...Fancy Nancy. So as we... Jolee, Daddy, and I sat down to enjoy our nice dinner setting, Brennan took a nap so that he would be rested and in a great mood for his 1st family Christmas.
Jolee is very much into princesses, fairytales, castles. Sometimes she speaks very maturely for a 4 year old. So my favorite quote from her when she came in and saw the table decorated for our Christmas dinner with candle light, new plates and charges under them, she said.....Oh Mom it's like a dream come true!! It's like we live in a castle Mom, its so fancy! I was so excited to see her so excited!
2 stockings to fix this year, Jolee got girlie stuff like a luffa and nail polish in hers and Brennan got, well teething stuff to chew on and puffs. Everyone was very happy!
Little man woke up from his little power nap, such a happy little camper. Jolee went in and whispered to him, brother wake up it's Christmas your 1st Christmas Brennan.
Jolee's gift to Brennan was a puppy pillow pet (she has had that picked out for him, since he was in my belly). She said the entire time and has not wavered from that at all. So she got him one, so they could lay down and watch TV together on their pillow pets!
Brennan bought Jolee a new leotard for dance class! Here is what she said....it will do just fine, as she was twirling around and around. Not sure where that saying came from.

They truly love each other genuinely, I pray it always is like that. I have to brag on my girl a minute. She was so sweet to him, she helped him pull things out of his stocking, tell him what it was and how he will like it (as he just stares at her, like he is really paying attention to what she is saying). She wanted Brennan to open his before she opened hers, she was so excited about his presents for him. It was just a very sweet night between them. We are truly blessed with our children!
Funny Story: Let start by saying Jolee loves music, she loves to sing, she loves to dance, she wants to hear some songs over and over, she loves music. So we got her a kids MP3 player! My intention was to download some music on it, before she opened it so she would know what it was. Well of course, that didn't happen. So when she opened it, she was so very nice and thankful. She said...Oh it is purple and pink my favorite colors....silence, silence, silence and then she said...thank you, but what is it? After we explained what it does, she was a little more into it. But after we put her some songs on it and she found out what it was and how it worked....she was all about it and LOVED it!
You can totally tell by her smile in the above picture, she had no clue what it was.
But in the above picture, her smile was a .....yes smile, showing she knew what this was...the Toy Story 3 DVD!

An oldie but a goody. I should say a loud oldie but a loud goody! She has been asking for this game since before her last birthday.
Brennan's first race track. He loves it actually we all love it, it is very fun to play with. Of course, by the next day he had put his phone, tools, really anything he could put on there to watch it spin around!
It was such a fun night with our children. We watched them have fun individually and have fun together. I am truly blessed to be there mother.
We all stayed up pretty late that night, we put the toys, games, etc together while they played, played and played. The next day after school and running some errands we pulled back in the garage and this is how I found Jolee
sound asleep while listening to her new MP3 player. Some of her play list at her request was, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, Woody's Roundup (from Toy Story) and the Princess's music!
Brennan I think had a wonderful 1st Christmas. I also learned, that WOW it is tough to Christmas shop with 2 little kids!!
