Soccer 101

So Jolee has decided that she wants to play soccer. This is not the 1st time she has mentioned wanting to play. However, it is the first time that she has been old enough to actually play on a team. I called earlier in the week and got all the information about it, when are sign ups, cost, schedule, etc!
So I wanted to make sure, she really knew what it was all about.
Me: Jolee you know you have to run a lot in soccer
Jolee: Mom I love to run
Me: What about if it is cold
Jolee: I can put a long sleeve shirt under my jersey, you know like I do sometimes for school
Me: You have to learn the rules, follow them and play with a team. And if you start and don't like it, have to finish playing the season out.
Jolee: I thought there were 4 seasons...Fall, Summer, Winter, Spring that's what I learned at school.
Me: Totally confused here! But after talking a few minutes about it, we figured out to her it sounded like I called soccer a season.
Anyways, long story short she is very smart, doesn't miss anything you say and she wants to play soccer!
Of course Daddy stepped in and said ok Jolee, lets kick the ball back and forth a little bit and see what ya got. So after talking over some soccer rules and kicking it back and forth awhile he said....I think you might be a natural Jolee, she said no Daddy I'm just good. Got to love a 4 year old.

Needless to say, they have to go get a real soccer ball this weekend. However, our little Dora ball came in handy that night! Now she is just worried about, what color her Jersey is going to be and is already thinking about where in her room that her trophy (from the end of the year) will go.

  1. I love the oversized shirt as a nightie!

You need to make sure you match Jolee's cleats with her jersey. She'll be the best dressed one there!
